Extra Details about Proudtrot
The Lampmaker read somewhere once that one shouldn't use more than two different types of metal when making a piece of furniture. He believes this is incorrect, and that Proudtrot proves beauty can arise from an alchemy of multiple metallic looks. This flusher was rescued from an old, abandoned high school in Southern California by a friend's cool plumber.
A Note About All Flush Lamps
Most Flush Lamps are constructed with both unused and restored parts. Regardless of their past, all were cleaned, sanded, polished, and loved. The mission is to give all these blue collar, utilitarian parts their own version of the American Dream: an opportunity to rise from the shadows of dusty second-hand furniture shops, bathroom cabinets and basement walls, and proudly reveal their beautiful qualities in a fancy, high-rise window, a blue collar family living room, an artist's studio, a writer's study, a lamp museum, a finished basement, or, like, a really cool advanced man cave that women are also welcome in, hopefully.
If something ever goes wrong with the lamp, tell the Lampmaker, and he'll either fix it or help you get it fixed. The Lampmaker wants each lamp to last at least as long as he does.
Notes On Safety
Flush Lamps are constructed of industrial and commercial-grade materials, and can be heavy - please always be careful handling them (if mishandled, you are actually more likely to damage whatever the lamp hits than the lamp itself).
The threads on steel pipe can also be quite sharp, so don't ever grab the threaded areas with your bare hands. And a lovely thing about lamps made of pipes is if you ever feel like a pipe or joint fitting is too loose, you can always tighten it by yourself or with a strong friend.
If you ever need to move or make adjustments to a Flush Lamp or any lamp, really, it's always a good idea to unplug it first. Wearing gloves is recommended. You should probably wash your hands when you are done, too. That's just good hygiene.
No internal wiring is exposed to the metal of the pipe within. Should any live wire ever come into contact with the lamp, do not touch it.
Although these lamps look truly sumptuous, do not lick or kiss the lamps, especially if the temperature is below freezing.
